El término screamo últimamente ha sido considerado como un símbolo de moda y/o pose social así como sucedió con el punk.
En cada esquina veías a tipos con polos de anarquía, llevando pulseras con púas, mochilas con parches(hasta de EL CHE Guevara, yo vi), reuniéndose en quilca(no incluyo a todos) saliendo a protestar por estúpideces, volviéndose vegetarianos, etc...
Con el tiempo esa onda fue desaparenciendo
Lastimosamente, ahora ves a tipos con mechones de cabello tirado en la cara, con pierciengs en el labio, usando los pantalones de sus hermanas, quejándose de la vida y hablando de quitarse la misma.(UGH...)
Esa gente no sabe qué es lo que sigue, ni por qué usan lo que usan, solamente es una gran masa de poseros, gente reprimida que encontró un estilo que no los marginara de la sociedad.
O lo más probable, no tienen personalidad musical, no es algo que yo critique, ni que quiera juzgar, mas bien es cosa suya.
Bueno, el punto de todo lo dicho es aclarar lo que es screamo realmente, no es un estilo de vida, menos una moda, y así como la salsa o la chicha, es un género musical.
El screamo consiste en sonidos caóticos, rozando los límites del grindcore, es destrucción de lo melódico, es lo feo, pero a la vez hermoso.
La verdad describir el sonido del screamo no es tarea fácil sin embargo te puedes dar una idea si escuchas unas de estas bandas:
